Can you tell something about the old days at river Glomma ?

“ I remember the first fish in Glomma rising to my fly. I missed it, but until this day it must have been the largest grayling I've ever seen”

Did you catch any really big fish in Glomma ?

“ Sure ! The biggest trout was 56 cm, and one day I landed and released a grayling of 58 cm on a dry fly.”

What is your favourite dry fly ?

“ I have a lot of favourite dry flies, if I should name a special one for Glomma it would have to be the CDC sedge emerger”

What is your favourite nymph ?

“A black nymph, body made of black squirrel fur and a silver bead head.”

How long leader do you use, and how thick is your tippet ?

" For dry fly fishing I like to use a braided leader. Depending on the water type and the strength of the wind, my ideal leader would be 9 ft long, I attach a tippet about 2 meters long; this tippet is 12/100 or 14/100 mm thick “

Do you loose a lot of fish when fishing without a barb on your hook ?

“ I loose as many fish when using barbed hooks or barbless hooks. It doesn't seem to matter much for me, it all depends if the fish is hooked well. If it is not, I will loose it.”

What do you think about the new rules & regulations ?

“ I really support them ! “

What should be your best advice for a fellow Glomma fly fisherman ?

“ Enjoy the nature and the tranquility. Before you start fishing, have a good look and make sure you read the water well. Only then you cast your fly, and when circumstances are right, you will catch fish.”
